In 1991, at the age of 24, he started his own construction company in Vancouver. Following the arrival of his daughter in 1995 he moved his family and business to Winnipeg. In 2011 Darrin gifted the Winnipeg-based company to his employees and moved back home to Regina. Since then Darrin has been actively involved in the Saskatchewan construction industry.
The people of Saskatchewan are in need of a party that is willing to stand up to the Wall government and hold the Sask Party accountable for the mismanagement of their tax dollars. This government has had a free ride for far too long, along with an ineffective NDP opposition unable to hold them accountable for their mistakes.
Lamoureux's brother, Kevin Lamoureux, served 18 years as an MLA in Manitoba. In 2010, Kevin ran and won in the federal riding of Winnipeg North, and was re-elected in 2011 and 2015.
What I learned from Kevin is that there is a simple way of doing politics, that is to be honest, put in a hard day's work, and listen to your constituents. Do those three things and your constituents will want you to represent them.
I look forward to bringing a fresh voice to the political scene in Saskatchewan, and presenting a practical Liberal alternative to voters in the next election.
