My name is Janice Palmer and I have lived, and worked, in Saskatchewan all of my life. My father was a founding member, and director, of Carmichael Outreach in Regina. I learned a lot about social justice and service from his example.
As a candidate in the upcoming provincial election, in 2016, I continue to be impressed by the unique and secure place we have been given to call our home. The abundance of natural and agricultural resources and the entrepreneurial spirit of the people, truly make Saskatchewan a land of opportunity.
The people of this province are hard-working and from multiple cultural backgrounds; they are rural and urban; are white collar and blue collar; and they care about their communities. Above all else, the strength of Saskatchewan is her people.
I strongly believe that the Saskatchewan Liberal Party, with its leadership and 5-point plan, provide a positive and forward moving strategy that will advance the well-being and opportunities of our people. A collaborative relationship with our Federal and Municipal counterparts, and strong leadership, will set a solid foundation for this province. That is my hope, and that is why I entered this race.
My personal areas of concern are:
- Health care (palliative care, mental health and addictions)
- Poverty reduction
- Aboriginal consultation and collaboration
- Green energy alternatives.
- NOT privatizing Saskatchewan
It will be my challenge to discover the concerns that are important to the people of this constituency, to always be accessible to you, and to always be ready to fight for the issues that matter to you.
I am very much up to the challenge.
