SASKATOON – Naveed Anwar has announced his resignation as Leader of the Saskatchewan Liberal Party, effective September 9th, 2020. Anwar has served as Saskatchewan Liberal Leader since May 2018.
“Upon personal reflection, I have decided to focus my time and energy on social causes outside of politics,” stated Anwar, “I thank all those who have supported me during my political career. I will remain thankful for the rest of my life as they are assets in my heart.”
The Party will begin the process to appoint an interim Leader.
Saskatchewan Liberals continue to prepare for the upcoming provincial election, including nominating candidates and sharing positive and forward-looking ideas to help Saskatchewan people, families, and businesses recover and prosper within a more diversified and sustainable economy.
