Unity Key to Helping Ukraine

REGINA, SK – Saskatchewan Liberal leader Jeff Walters is calling on politicians of all political stripes to unify in their quest to support and help Ukraine.

“Disdain for Putin’s illegal invasion of their sovereign neighbor should not be a partisan act. In Ukraine, people are fighting and dying and we must stand unified. We need to put aside our political differences and do what we can to help,” said Walters.

The comment from Walters is in direct response to Regina Rosemont MLA Trent Wotherspoon’s press conference on Tuesday calling for more political unity in supporting Ukraine’s struggle against Putin’s Russia. Wotherspoon laid out several points he wished to see happen. Walters agrees, but thinks some of the points can be pushed even further.

“It would be wise to match the CUF donations to double their goal, not just reach it, work with the federal government to freeze ALL Russian assets in the province, and support efforts of NGOs to house refugees in Saskatchewan.”
